The Stars of Film Noir

Recently, Wilmington, North Carolina's premier deli, "Detour Deli" located at 5th and Red Cross in Wilmington's Brooklyn Arts District, commissioned me to illustrate a few of the stars of the Film Noir genre. Keeping with a limited palette of black, red and gray I first inked them using a number 3 brush and then colored them digital to give it that old school retro look.
I love doing this type of work!  Thanks Al for the cool assignment! BTW, if you have not been to Detour Deli you have to get there. Carnivore and Vegan alike.

Cover for New Mobility Magazine

A few months ago I was given the opportunity to illustrate a cover, spread and full page illustration for New Mobility Magazine. I came up with pencil sketches and after a round of revisions I then inked the work using the traditional brush, pen & ink, scanned it and then colored the work digital in photoshop. NB did a great job with the type and I can't thank them enough.

I have been very busy on a variety of projects including an 8 page custom comic for Epic Insurance Solutions based in Louisville, KY. Shown here are a few images from the book.
Big kudos to my old high school and art school pal Tom Stazer who handled the lettering and much valued expertise. Thanks Tom!
Also shown here are two ink and watercolor sketches for my self penned "Bob of Bayonne", a project that I am looking to jump back into asap. Please click on images to enlarge.
